A Garland of Hope: Cantatas of Compassion

Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 3:00pm at Dana Auditorium, Guilford College

PCS joins the Guilford College Chamber Singers to present choral masterworks by Johann Sebastian Bach and Benjamin Britten. Bach's Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis, BWV 21 will be joined by Britten's Cantata misericordium, Opus 69, created by the pacifist composer for the commemoration of the centennial anniversary of the Red Cross. This poignant and cathartic program will leave you with a sense of hopeful optimism.
